Keshinro Ololade (born March 17, 1995), who goes by the stage name, Lil Kesh, is an astonishing Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter.

He rose to stardom after releasing a song titled Shoki. Shoki, which was attached to a dance style, gained a lot of positive reviews and has been remixed on two occasions; male and female versions.

So far, Lil Kesh has been nominated for awards a record four times, winning them twice. He joined forces with YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop) Nation as a recording artist before signing under his own record label, Young And Getting It, YAGI Records.

Early Life & Education

Lil Kesh was given birth to and raised in Bariga, a place situated in Lagos State, Nigeria. He was born on 17 March 1995 and hails from Osun State, Western Nigeria. He is from the Yoruba tribe.

He has a brother named Keshinro Pelumi and he was born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Keshinro.

He grew up with a love for music. He would sing to his school friends and perform at local competitions. His parents were aware of his talent and supported him all through.

Lil Kesh attended Stockbridge College for his primary and secondary education before proceeding to the prestigious University of Lagos (Unilag), where he studied Linguistics. 

Later, he enrolled at the National Open University, Nigeria, where he studied Mass Communication online.

Career 

Lil Kesh began his musical career in 2012 when he rapped among his colleagues in Bariga. Shortly after, he released a debut single which he titled Lyrically. The song went viral within the corners of Nigerian universities.

Aftermath, he signed a contract with a record level called Yahoo Boy No Laptop Nation, popularly known as YBNL Nation. YBNL is an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide in 2012. 

Under this label, Lil Kesh dropped a series of hit singles such as Shoki, Gbese, Efejoku, Last Card, etcetera, and released his debut studio album, YAGI.

Subsequently, in 2014, he released a hit single titled Shoki. Shoki topped several musical charts and brought the superstar musician to the limelight. As a result of this musical production, he won several nominations for awards but won two.

 In 2015, Lil Kesh was nominated for Best New Act at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Then in 2016, after his contract with YBNL, he established his own record label called YAGI Records (an acronym for Young And Getting It). 

The label is managed by a marketing and event management company, Massive Management Team.

On the 17th of March, 2016, Lil Kesh released his debut studio album titled Young And Getting It (Y.A.G.I) through YBNL Nation. The song was produced by Young John, and Pheelz Vocals were from Ycee, Phyno, Wale, Adekunle Gold, Patoranking, Viktoh, Olamide, Davido, and Chinko Ekun. It incorporates the hip hop and rap genre. 

It contains four singles – Lyrically, Efejoku, Is it because I love You, and Ibile.

The versatility and musical style of Lil Kesh is quite similar to that of Olamide, who raps and sings in his local dialect (Yoruba). However, Lil Kesh has been criticized for using too much profanity and failing to find the right balance in his lyrics.

Notwithstanding, Lil Kesh has been described by several pundits and fans as one of the best rappers to ever grace the industry.

Lil Kesh is one of the highly placed young artists in Nigeria. He has many hit singles to his name coupled with numerous award nominations to balance the equation.

At the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Lil Kesh was nominated for Best New Act to Watch, and at the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards, he won the award for Celebrity Award – Song Of The Year for his song titled “Shoki”.

Keshinro Ololade, also known as Lil Kesh, is a handsome young man with great swag. The YAGI artists stand at the height of 5 feet 9 inches with an average weight of 74kg. He has dark brown eyes. His hair is naturally black.

Lil Kesh is not very open about his private life. However, he has released some hints about his past and present relationships. 

In an interview with Sunday Beats in 2017, the Nigerian made it clear he wasn’t in any relationship and that the last time he dated was in 2016.
